Tom R Porter Shoots for Project 213A
Tom is a London based photographer with the talent of capturing the everyday ordinary from an unexpected point of view.
His images communicate vivid colours and have a somewhat bizarre but also joyful aesthetic.
This image series, taken in Margate UK, features Tom’s hand picked selection of Project 213A ceramic pieces. We are excited to see these in an environment that represents his personal style and allows the products to tell a new story.
The black sand beach of Reynisfjara is one of many geological wonders on the island of Iceland. On the other side of the ocean, rocky sea stacks rise above and overlook the black sands. These ancient columns naturally took shape as the lava rose. From here the Alfonso Vase drew inspiration, its sculpting takes place by organically displacing seventeen individual layers.
Meet the little sister of our Maria Vessel. Mini Maria entertains the idea of sculpting a symmetrical vase with an intense and strong colour but amiss proportions and small opening to highlight the individual beauty.
Flat Vase in Brick
This playful vase was designed after a happy accident in the workshop while sculpting what was supposed to be a round vase that fell off the table and flattened. The vase has a hammered finish with a contemporary matte glaze and is hallmarked with a discreet P 213 A embossed logo.
Mini Sailor in Brick
Meet the little brother of the Sailor vase, still timeless but a little bit
more playful. This mini vase is finished with a contemporary textured matte glaze. The handmade process gives it a subtle and intimate uneven touch. Hallmarked with a discreet P 213A embossed logo.
